Temporary repair should be done at most 1 week before intercourse. It is incomprehensible that the hymen is being sutured. However, it can be understood if the obstetrician is examined.

Hymen repair can be done under general or local anesthesia. The process takes a maximum of 30 minutes. After the procedure, the patient should be given antibiotics.

Genital area hygiene should be given importance to prevent infection. In permanent repair, it can be seen that the stitches do not hold due to infection or that they are opened in cases such as constipation and heavy lifting. For this reason, it should be examined and checked for the last time 3-5 days before the marriage.

In case of rupture of the hymen, people think that they have committed a social crime, they feel sad, they have difficulty in re-establishing a relationship and getting married in the social environment. The purpose of hymen repair is to eliminate this loss of self-confidence and anxiety. Hymen repair is today’s reality. Whether it should be done or not is still a matter of debate.
